Edna Mae Burnett, 81, of Philadelphia passed away on June 9, 2019. She was born on September 30, 1937 in Philadelphia, PA to the late Pansy and Oscar Burnett. Edna was a life long in-home caregiver for children. She loved spending time with family and friends, plants and gardening, traveling, and fashion. She was also a pet lover and very fond of her dog Prince. Edna was a faithful servant of Jehovah God and enjoyed worship and ministry work with her brothers and sisters. As a mom, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend, she will be deeply missed.
Edna is survived by her daughter, Pansy Garner, grandchildren Michelle Corbin, William Corbin, Jr. and his wife Yenny, Cecelia and her husband David Grimes and Sara and her husband Mark Mabe, siblings Genevieve Roy, Ronald and Wimberly Burnett, brother-in-law Harry Sorden and niece Janice Burnett, raised as a sister to Edna. In addition to her parents and step-father John Perkins, Edna is preceded in death by her daughter Laura Corbin and son-in-law William Corbin, Sr. She was also preceded in death by her sisters Lila Sorden and Viola Flemmings and brother-in-law George Roy, Jr.
The memorial service will be held on June 29, 2019 at 1:30pm at the following location:
