Krystyna Green

March 6, 2019

Krystyna Green, 88, passing away peacefully in her sleep on March 6, 2019, went home
to be with our Lord and Savior, joining her loving husband Adam. Born in Warsaw,
Poland, Krystyna was the daughter of the late Anthony and Jennifer Pawlak of Warsaw,
Poland. She was a survivor of World War II and Holocaust, and with her adventurous
and ambitious spirit and love of her family, Krystyna sought refuge and freedom from
then communist Poland.  Exile was offered to the family by the nation of Israel at
that time. Moving to Tel Aviv, Israel, she continued to pursue her goal of coming to
America for the next five years before being granted immigration to the United
States. Coming to America in 1963, and residing in the Bronx, her goal for a better
life and opportunity was achieved. Krystyna worked in the New York City garment and
textile industry. After many years of hard work and determination, she joined and
worked at the prestigious fashion firm of Judith Leiber Inc. as a sample maker of
exclusive women’s hand bags made for many First Ladies of State and celebrities
around the world for more than twenty years. In retirement, with love and
compassion, Krystyna provided care to those in need who could no longer care for
themselves. She relocated to Greensboro, NC in 2018.Krystyna was an amazing, upbeat,
happy, generous and caring person with a big heart and a zest for life who loved the
Lord and her family dearly.  Although she lost the only true love of her life in
1972, with two sons to raise, and in a country far from the support of her parents
and siblings, she had the unbelievable strength to endure and to overcome her
obstacles with love, grace, and faith. She enjoyed traveling, sewing, cooking, music
and most of all, spending time with her friends and family. She is survived by her
two sons, Victor Green  (Lee Ann) of Greensboro, NC and Andre Green (Renata) of
Bronx, NY; two grandchildren, Danielle Hunter (Scott) of Waxhaw, NC and Michael Adam
Green (Katy) of Huntersville, NC;  two great grandchildren, Lauren and Ryan Hunter
of Waxhaw NC; and three siblings, Stasia Zielinska , Donna Hipps, and Jan Pawlak,
all of Warsaw, Poland. The family held an intimate and private celebration of life
memorial and tree planting ceremony at High Rock Lake in Salisbury, NC on Sunday
March 10th.The family wishes to thank all those who cared for Krystyna during her
decline in New York and in Greensboro, NC.  Their sacrifices and loving care are
deeply and sincerely appreciated. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Our
Lady of Grace Catholic Church,  2203 W. Market Street, Greensboro, NC 27403.
