Obituary

Mrs. Margaret Nance Pettaway (also known as “Nana) was born on October 26th, 1934 to the late Bessie and Rev. E.D. Nance of South Carolina. She attended and graduated from Fuller Norman Institute of South Carolina. She went on to pursue her career as a Travel Agent (sending you on vacations of a life time) and also working in retail for many years with Sears, Kmart, and Walmart. While beginning her career, she found the LOVE of her Life, James “FATDADDY” Pettaway, who preceded her in death June of 1988 .Their love grew as husband and wife for over 50 years. During this time they created a caring son, Michael Vernard Pettaway (Phyllis) Also raising a devoted and loving Grandson, Artouris Bryant (Holli) as her son as well.”Nana” has 27grand and great grandchildren  of whom 2 of them preceded her in death, (Tosha-2009 and Cherry 2008), Chappell,Gail,Elnathan,Otis,Mecca,Shannel, Desiree, Endya, Chauncey,Anessa,Jeffrey,Willie, Joshua,Quanja,Jacob, Nevaeh,Esaias, Macus, Kennedi, Markel,Kenzo,Aksha,Aermais, Kaidance. She also has a loving Godson CeeCee Council and a dear friend of many years, Janie Johnson., along with a host of cousins, nieces and nephews. Mrs. Margaret also leaves behind so much love for Coach Davis and the entire Dudley High School football team.

A visitation will be held at 11 am on Friday, January 17, 2020 at 11:00 am at Word of Life Pentecostal Church of Christ, with funeral services to follow at 12:00 Noon.
