Pleasant Garden, NC: Mr. Marvin Franklin Midkiff, 86, passed away at his residence on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at 01:41 a.m.
A native of Surry County, NC, Marvin was the husband of Betty Jenkins Midkiff and the son of William E. Midkiff and Pearl Key Midkiff, both deceased. Marvin worked as a farmer on the family farm, as a carpenter and retired from Thompson-Arthur Paving Company with over 25 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, boating and hunting. Marvin was a member of Rehobeth United Methodist Church in Greensboro.
In addition to his wife, Betty, of the home, Marvin is survived by his three children, Joe Midkiff and wife, Joy, Jan Midkiff Edwards and husband, Skip and Jay Midkiff and wife, Pam; five grandchildren, Wesley Midkiff, Rachel Midkiff Robinson and husband, Sid, Lacey Edwards Peterson and husband, Keyan, Jeffrey Edwards and Marvin Lee Midkiff; three great grandchildren, William Robinson, Oliver Robinson and Lillian Midkiff; and two sisters, Alma Davenport and Hazel Perry. Marvin is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Herman Midkiff.
A Memorial Service will be held at Rehobeth United Methodist Church, 4475 Rehobeth Rd., Greensboro, NC 27406 by Rev. Rick Marson and Rev. Craig Schultz on Sunday, January 6, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Sunday at the church from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
