It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Rosemarie Maurer of Greensboro, after a brief illness on July 5, 2019, at Beacon Place, just shy of her 85th birthday. She leaves behind her beloved husband of 34 years, Heinz Maurer, two daughters Louisa Krause of CT and Michele Cayce (Thom) of NY, her two grandchildren Nikolas Krause residing in Nanjing, China, and Nadine Krause of CT, as well as her in-laws Roswitha and Bobby Kozak of Summerfield and Irmgard Maurer of Kernersville with family.
Rosemarie immigrated from Germany in 1952. She lived in Jersey City, NJ, and was proprietor of Greenville Bakery for over 20 years.
After the passing of her first husband, Rosemarie remarried and lived in Ridgefield, NJ, before moving to Greensboro, NC, with Heinz, where she greatly enjoyed her life. She became a certified nurse’s assistant and lovingly cared for others for 10 years.
Rosemarie was a lover of animals and nature, enjoyed gardening and inviting strangers to her home to try her German cooking. Throughout her life she loved helping people in need however she could.
We ask that any offerings in her memory be made to the SPCA or a charity of your choice. Arrangements entrusted to Triad Cremation & Funeral Service of Greensboro NC.
