Browns Summit NC: SIEGFRIED RICHARD KOEGL 1930 - 2018
On November 23rd Sieg’s earthly journey ended quietly at home surrounded by those he loved.
Born on December 24, 1930 he grew up in Bavaria, Germany and came to the U.S. in 1950 as an exchange student. Sponsored by the Farm Bureau, he lived in Summerfield for a year with members of the Shaw family. After his exchange year he returned to Germany and applied for an immigration visa which allowed him to return and become a citizen a few years later. In 1952 he began working for Container Corporation of America where he remained until retirement in 1995. He is predeceased by his son, Michael Richard Koegl. He leaves, to honor his memory, his wife of 41 years, Pat, his four step children, Michael Tehan, Daniel Tehan, Keith Tehan and Colleen Tehan Bannerman; nine grandchildren, Chris, Jon, Anna, Eliza, Connor, Katherine, Ramsey, Michael, Avin, his daughter in-law, Joanne Koegl and his very special friends Claudia Burkardt and Bert Wagemans.
His request was that there be no funeral services and the family asks that in lieu of flowers or donations, that all who knew him honor his memory by being kind, compassionate, tolerant and accepting of all God’s creatures, great and small, that this world might learn to live in peace. Arrangements entrusted to Triad Cremation & Funeral Service of Greensboro NC.
