Alberta Davis Randleman, 81 years old, passed away on Thursday, October 7th 2021, in her home. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend; a true woman of God.
Alberta, affectionately known as “Bert” and “Mother Randleman”, was born April 5th, 1940 in Madison, NC to the late Wallace Phillips and Savannah Louise Davis. She was the oldest of seven children; one sister, Mildred Yvonne Jones, preceded her in death. Alberta was married to Lester Daton Randleman and five beautiful children were born from this union.
Alberta attended Florence High School. Upon moving to Boston, MA, she furthered her education by attending Massachusetts Development Training Program. She became a skilled Typist and obtained employment with HoneyWell. After one year of service, she was promoted to Department Secretary. Years later, Alberta moved her family back to Greensboro, NC, where she then took her talents to Penn National Insurance Company. She retired from there after 24 years of service. Alberta, a people person and not one to sit still, later went on to work at Wal-Mart as a part-time Greeter. She also volunteered as a Foster Grandparent with Guilford County School System, where she was awarded for her service in the community.
Alberta professed her life to Christ in 1966 and became a warrior for Christ until the day the Lord called her home. Her passion in the Church took on many roles, that included prayer warrior, long time Sunday School Teacher, Usher and Choir Member. Her favorite saying was "But God.” In addition to her love for serving the Lord, Alberta also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, traveling, cooking, reading, staying up on current events, watching game shows and attending Silver Sneakers classes at the gym. Alberta touched the lives of many people with her generosity, positive words, infectious smile, laughs, strength and perseverance.
Those left to celebrate and cherish Alberta’s life are her husband, Lester Randleman, of the home; one son, Lester Gralin Randleman of Greensboro; four daughters, Trulus Cash (Printist) of Greensboro; Anita R. McPherson of Concord; Gina Shabazz (Carl) of Knightdale; Jenel Randleman of Charlotte; Bonus Daughter, Angelia Geddie (Pat) of Greensboro; Eleven Grandchildren; Thirteen Great-Grandchildren; Four Brothers and one Sister; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
