Kernersville, NC / Lincoln, ME – Cecil Paradis Sr , 79 , passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on April 17, 2021. He was born on January 27, 1942 in Lincoln, ME the son of Thomas and Viola (Tibbetts) Paradis.
Cecil was predeceased by his loving wife Marie (Boyd) Paradis of 47 years in 2019
Cecil served in the US Army (E-5) as a lineman installer/repairer with his assignment with the 3rd Infantry Division in Wurzburg, Germany. After his service he returned to Lincoln, ME with employment with Buck Motors and Tibbetts Building and Fuel as a mechanic / fuel delivery driver later working as a heavy equipment operator with Sheridan D Smith Construction and later with the Town of Lincoln Public Works department.
Cecil was a faithful communicant of St. Mary’s of Lourdes Catholic Church and member of the Knights of Columbus and American Legion both of Lincoln, ME
During the 1990’s into the 2000’s after the passing of his grand daughter Phylicia Tapley from cancer, Cecil and Marie volunteered endlessly raising funds for the Children’s Miracle Network. With Cecil’s mechanical ingenuity with his custom-built mini go carts and a tractor trailer for local parades with multiple 1st prize winnings these were also used as rides to entertain the young children in the Lincoln area. During Christmas time, Cecil and Marie would visit multiple schools and senior living locations as Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus providing joy and comfort during the holidays.
Cecil is survived by his siblings Albert Paradis and his wife Lorraine, Pearl Smith both of Lincoln, ME, Sandra Barker and her husband Gary of Enfield, ME, Phillip Paradis and his wife Linda of Coalville, TN
Three children Jim Shaw Jr and his girlfriend Amber Carney of Millinocket, ME, Becky Van Alstyne and her husband John of Corinth, ME, Cecil Paradis Jr of Kernersville, NC thirteen grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren. Cecil is predeceased by his parents Thomas and Viola, brother Thomas Paradis, wife Marie Paradis, daughter Debbie Archer, granddaughter Phylicia Tapley and great grandson Alexander Paradis.
Friends and family are invited to attend celebration of life service at The Bridge Christian Fellowship in Kernersville, NC on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at 10AM
On a later date in Lincoln, ME a Christian mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s of Lourdes Catholic Church followed by interment at the Lincoln cemetery on July 10, 2021 at 11AM
