Debra Ann Grubbs, 52, went home to be with the Lord Friday, February 12th, 2021, At Annie Penn Hospital in Reidsville, NC. By her side were her two Daughters: Jennifer M Grubbs and Cheyenne L Hill, Stepdaughters: Angie Gourley and Alicia Vernon, and Son in-law: Bryan Grill.
Debra known as Debbie by many was a one-of-a-kindsoul, and she never met a stranger. She always thought of others above herself and loved helping others in any way she could. Above all she loved to spend time with her daughters and grandchildren. Debra was born on Sept 20th, 1968 in Lancaster, SC, to her parents Johnnie Gibson (Mother) and Don “Sonny” Gibson (Father). She attended Great Falls Senior High School and was a graduate in the class of 1986. Debra also attended Charleston Southern University (Formally Baptist College) in Charleston, SC. She moved to Eden, NC in 1993 after the birth of her first child. Debra was a former employee of Spray Cotton Mill, where she worked until becoming disabled in the late 90’s. She will be missed dearly, but we know we will see her again one glorious day. Debra was of the Christian faith.
Debra is survived by her Two Daughters: Jennifer M Grubbs and Husband Bryan Grill, Cheyenne L Hill and Husband Austin Hill, Two Step Daughters: Angie Gourley and Husband Jon Gourley, Alicia Vernon and Husband Jason Vernon, Granddaughter: Harley Shay Slaughter, Step Grandchildren: Megan Grubbs, Breanna Ratliff, Jordyn Ratliff, Hannah Vernon, and Haylee Vernon, Mother Johnnie Gibson and Father Don “Sonny” Gibson, Two Sisters: Teresa Reed and Husband Steve Reed, Donna Loftin and Husband David Loftin, Nieces: Brittany Love, Ashland Lear, Hailee Loftin, Heather Reed, Corrine Reed, and Nephew Christopher Reed, Paternal Grandmother Sara Gibson, As well as many other family members. She is preceded in death by Richard Wade Grubbs Father of her children, Mother in-law Annie W Grubbs, Maternal Grandparents John Hinson & Lorena Hinson, Paternal Grandfather Woodrow Gibson, as well as many other loved ones.
Cremation arrangements entrusted to Triad Cremation & Funeral Service of Greensboro, NC, with no formal services per her wishes.
The family will receive guests at Daughter Jennifer M Grubbs home, at 1000 1st Street, Eden, NC, 27288 through this difficult time.
The family will be planning an informal gathering at the address listed above in her honor – The date is yet to be determined.
