Honoring the Life and Cherishing the Memories of
Ms. Faith Marchelle Pryor Melton, 58 of Winston-Salem NC, was born April 9, 1963 in Cleveland Ohio, to James R. Pryor and Rosa H. (Clarke) Pryor; passed away at Beacon Place (Hospice) in Greensboro, NC. Faith, who was full of life, fought a good fight and she was determined to live beyond the time the doctors said she had left- and she did just that! Therefore, Faith did not lose her battle, but instead she decided to accept her heavenly wings as she answered the call from her earthly “labor,” on Labor Day Monday, September 6, 2021, to her eternal rest. Faith attend school in Cleveland Ohio and graduate from Griswald Institute. Faith pursued her passion in the medical field by ascertaining her certifications in Phlebotomy and in the Medical Assistance program at Case Western Reserve, in Cleveland Ohio. Faith and her family began their journey in North Carolina when they moved to Statesville, NC in December 1998. They later moved to Winston- Salem, after Faith accepted a position at Wake Forest Baptist Health where she worked for several years. She loved her work as a phlebotomist and was often called upon by her co-workers to assist with difficult sticks. Faith continued her love for her work as a phlebotomist at Lyndhurst Gynecologic Associates in Winston-Salem, NC and concluded her work there after twelve years.
Faith was preceded in death by her father James Russell Pryor and her uncle Claude Clarke. She leaves to cherish her memories Rosa Henrietta Pryor, her daughter LaTina Melton(Greensboro), her granddaughter Nadiah Melton and grandson Nasir Melton (Greensboro), one brother Thomas Pryor (Michelle Pryor-Cleveland Ohio), a Godson Carlos Camp, a devoted friend Pam Reynolds, a devoted best friend since 3rd grade Geraldine Camp Smith and a host of other family members, friends and co-workers who loved and cherished her.
Faith never met a stranger and could get along with anybody. She loved going to the beach, she was a Steelers fan, she loved to dance, her favorite number was “392,” and somehow she had a knack for playing to win. Up until her health began to decline, Faith took wonderful care of her dear mother Rosa, who lived with her in her home. From the time Faith was born, her mother affectionately called her “Ginger.” Faith was a loving mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, friend and just a lovely person who have now gone from our presence but will remain in our hearts and will never be forgotten. So, put a smile on your face as you remember these tender words of her granddaughter Nadiah, “Grandma is not in pain anymore, she is in heaven where she can move her legs, walk and dance again and she is probably up there talking to everybody.”
So rest well our dearly beloved Faith, we miss you already but we hope to see you again someday.
