He was born June 11, 1941 in Greensboro, NC to Clifton Roosevelt Moore and Mollie Oldham Moore. He was a graduate of Rankin High School and president of his senior class. Upon graduation, he joined the Navy, serving aboard the U.S.S. Intrepid, an aircraft carrier now docked in a harbor in NYC as a museum.

He was preceded by his brother, Ronald Larry Moore, and his sister, Harriet Marie Moody.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Barbara Anne Byrd Moore, to who he was married for 58 years. He is also survived by his son, Brian Scott Moore of Greensboro; daughter Kristin Elise smith, and grandchildren Russell Byrd Smith and Molly Smith from Marietta, GA.

He enjoyed woodworking and had crafted some beautiful furniture for his home. Later in life he enjoyed reading, watching the birds visit his feeders, watching “Gunsmoke”, listening to-and phoning in to-the local radio station every Saturday morning to request a song on the Bluegrass show. He especially enjoyed going to Herbie’s every morning for breakfast and to meet up with friends.
