John William Pearman Jr.

 John William Pearman, Jr. born November 23, 1934, passed away at home on Friday, May 19, 2023, with family by his side, at the age of 88.

John was born in Spray, NC, now Eden, NC, to John William Pearman, Sr. and Ollie Gray Billings Pearman. John attended Spray Elementary School and graduated from Morehead High School in 1953. While in high school, the FBI recruited soon-to-be graduates to work in Washington, DC, where he eventually met the love of his life, Emogene Shepherd.

John and Emogene got married in Washington, DC, on March 5, 1955, and continued to work for the FBI for another two years. After leaving Washington, they moved to Pikeville, KY, where he worked in radio before being drafted and moving to Ft. Benning, GA. In February 1958, they welcomed their first daughter, Rhonda Pearman Roberts. After release from the service, John and Emogene moved to Greensboro, NC, where their second daughter, Melissa Pearman Tuttle was born in March 1960.

While working full-time, John graduated from Guilford College. He spent his career mainly in Human Resources and retired from Essilor in 1998. John and Emogene were able to take many trips and made lifelong friends along the way. He was a diehard Braves fan and family trips usually involved a baseball game.

John is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, one brother, and his daughter Rhonda Pearman Roberts in 2010.

John is survived by his wife of 68 years, Emogene S. Pearman, daughter Melissa Pearman Tuttle (Larry), son-in-law Alan Roberts, grandsons Chad Tuttle (Samantha), Justin Tuttle (Nicole), and Jeff Roberts. Granddaughters Lindsay Roberts Huynh (Tai) and Sidney Tuttle. He is also survived by three great-granddaughters and another due in September, and a host of nieces and nephews.

There will be no memorial service, but visitors can drop by the home if they wish. Triad Cremation & Funeral Service is assisting the family. They would like to thank Authoracare Hospice, Nancy McAlister, Elexis Turner, Brittany Robinson, and all others who were so kind to John during his illness.
