Greensboro NC: Julia Louella Royal Martin, 99, known by her beloved grandchildren as “Nana” went to be with the Lord on Friday July 24, 2020. Julia a lifelong resident of Greensboro was born to the late Joseph Royal and Celeta Whitt Royal on May 02, 1921. After graduating high school, in 1938, Julia met the love of her life, her late husband Paul L. Martin, a World War II Veteran, whom she was married to for over 77 years. As a lifelong member, you would find Julia at Lawndale Baptist Church every Sunday, but of course not before her weekly routine of visiting the local beauty shop. Julia retired from Newman Machine Company and from Sears when she was 80 years old. When not shopping or spending time with her children and grandchildren, you would find her traveling and spending time with friends and family.
She leaves to cherish in her memories a daughter: Cindy Cooke and husband Mike of Greensboro NC, Grandchildren: Lauren Cooke Ford of Mooresville NC, Zach Cooke of Greensboro, and a Great Grandchild: Liam Ford of Mooresville, and favorite nephew Tommy Royal of Greensboro.
Other than her spouse and parents she is preceded in death by her 3 brothers: Thomas Royal, Robert Royal, and Jack Royal.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday July 29, 2020 at Westminister Gardens in Greensboro NC with Rev. Jon Boling, and Marion Boling officiating. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Triad Cremation & Funeral Service of Greensboro NC.
