Larry Orlander Watson, 79, of Mcleansville, NC, passed away at his home on Saturday, October 2nd, 2021. Larry was born on May 28, 1942, in Guilford County to Orlander Buchanon Watson and Nora Walker.
Larry grew up in Greensboro, NC, and was a 1959 graduate of Greensboro Senior High School. During his time there he was a multiple sports star but excelled at baseball. After school, he went off to serve his country in the United States Marine Corps where he served several tours in the Vietnam War. Larry was a lifelong outdoorsman and some of his greatest memories were times spent hunting and fishing with his son and his oldest friends Doug, Jerry, L.A, and Eddie. He hunted and fished till he physically couldn’t do it any longer.
Larry is survived by his son Grant Watson and his wife Diane of Reidsville, NC, and Stepson Daniel Hall of Port Wentworth, GA. He is also survived by the light of his eye, his only granddaughter Sydney Watson of Monument, CO.
Larry is proceeded in death by his parents, his sister, and by the love of his life for 40 years, his wife Judith Ann Watson.
The family would like to thank Bobby and Joyce Brown and Nancy Wicker for everything they did for Larry during his declining health and for being 3 of the best people this world has ever known.
A celebration of life will be held Monday, October 11th at 3 pm at Triad Cremation & Funeral Service Chapel, 2110 Veasley Street, Greensboro, NC 27407.
