Mildred Virginia Brantley “Ginger”
Reidsville - Ginger Brantley, 79, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2020 at the Penn Nursing Center in Reidsville, NC.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bishop Lee Brantley and Mildred McNeill Kivett Brantley, and her beloved Joe E. Hughey.
A native of Raleigh, she was a graduate of the Woman’s College of the University of North Carolina in Greensboro and was a lifetime artist. There was never a craft or an art that she could not master. She enjoyed music, photography, painting, cooking, sewing, crocheting, knitting, making jewelry, stained glass, reading, gardening, collecting, traveling to North and South Carolina Beaches, mountains, Canada and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She enjoyed living life to the fullest, playfully, on her own terms, and had an avid appreciation for the sights and sounds of nature and all of God’s creations, especially the ocean, woods, sunrises, sunsets, moon phases, flowers and thunderstorms. She knew how to, and enjoyed dancing in the rain. She was also fond of cats, goats, birds, rocks and frogs. She used nature’s mediums to decorate her gardens and her home.
She was a loving mother and grandmother and is survived by daughter, Shannon Turner Horshok and husband John, and son, W. Clark Turner III and wife Michelle, and her grandchildren: Caroline Turner and fiancé Jordan James, Hannah Turner and Margaret Horshok.
The family would like to thank her caregivers and friends, especially Shirley White, at the Penn Nursing Center for their exceptional care and support. Arrangements entrusted to Triad Cremation & Funeral Service of Greensboro NC.
