Richard E. Wray

May 15, 1956 ~ January 7, 2021 (age 64)

Obituary

Richard Wray was born on May 15th , 1956 to Bob and Doris Wray in Rock Hill, SC. If you asked his Momma she would have told you his birth certificate was not correct because he was actually born on May 16th. She knew because she was there.
Ricky is survived by:
his wife of 21 years Tammy, his son Dale, daughter-in-law Heather, granddaughter Charlotte, aka Charlie, brothers Bobby, Eddie, Darryl, & Wayne,
sisters Peggy, Pat, Terry, Tammy & Angie, mother-in-law Casandra, sister-in-law Sharron, brothers-in-law Lee & Sherman and numerous nephews & nieces.
Ricky was preceded in death by his parents Bob and Doris, brother Johnny, sisters Geraldine and Vicky and father-in-law Sherman.
Ricky loved all sports. His favorite teams were the Pittsburgh Steelers, Nebraska Cornhuskers and Duke Blue Devils. You could always catch him checking scores on a football game of Pittsburg or Nebraska or a Duke basketball game or even seeing who was leading a NASCAR race. He really loved sports.
One of Ricky’s greatest loves was his family. He would do anything for them. Tammy will tell you his loves in order were Charlie, Shadow, chicken wings, and then her, Dale & Heather. He loved showing pictures of Charlie to everyone. Dr Ganji said he never left his office without showing him a new picture. He always would keep me posted on trips he and Tammy were taking with Dale and Heather and he always gave me updates on how much he enjoyed it after he was back home. He loved spending time with them. He had a great love for all of the dogs too.
Ricky was taken much too soon however his love will always be with us in our hearts. We all have wonderful memories that we will cherish. What we must remember and what I believe Ricky would tell us if he were here, never take a single day for granted. Love with all your heart and make sure that you know where you will spend eternity. He is spending some quality time with his savior now and seeing things we can only imagine. Ricky would want each of to be sure of our salvation. Then he would leave us with a smile, a wave and tell us just as he always told the girls “Have A Goodie” because I know he is having the time of his life.

There will be a Celebration of Life Ceremony to honor Richard Wray on Tuesday January 12, 2021 at Faith Freewill Baptist Church (2010 Colby St. Greensboro, NC 27407).
