Sharon Annette Smith, 60, of Greensboro, North Carolina into her Heavenly Life at her home on the morning of September 6, 2020.
Sharon was born in Greensboro, North Carolina on July 29, 1960. She was born to the late Martha Bell Smith and Joe Daniel Reid. Sharon graduated from Grimsley High School in 1979 and began working at Morgan & Son Poultry. In 1985, Sharon began fulfilling her calling from God working at Oak Hill Nursing Home. In 1987 Sharon worked for the Greensboro Daily News until 1995 when she began working for Guilford County School System as a dietitian and a bus monitor. Sharon worked for GCS for 13 years. She loved her job with a passion and loved each and every child that she came across.
Every stranger, whether young or old, Sharon treated like family and they always ended up calling her Aunt Sharon. Sharon never spoke an ill word to no one. When situations would arise, Sharon would always say,” We gonna be alright. Gods gonna take care of us.” She would call morning and night to check on family and to say, “ I just called to tell ya’ll goodnight; I Love Ya’ll”
Sharon is preceded in death by her mother & father, Ms. Martha Bell Smith & Joe Daniel Reid, three brothers, Joey Smith, Robert Smith, and Steve Smith.
She is survived by one son Jerome Smith (Karen Smith), a twin sister, Shelia Smith, two brothers, Rogers Smith and Ronnie Smith, two biological nephews, Willie Smith (Makita Smith) and Joey Smith, one biological niece, Faith Smith, 5 great nieces and nephews, and a host of adopted nieces and nephews. She will be remembered by Special Friends, Ms. Ruth Tisdale, Lee Roach of Asheboro, NC, Teresa Coble of Greensboro, NC, Julie McLean, and Renee Bates.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Triad Cremation & Funeral Service, 2110 Veasley Street, Greensboro, North Carolina on September 11, 2020 at 2:00 pm.
