Peaceful 09

Stephen Michael Slate

April 6, 1951 ~ November 14, 2020 (age 69)

Mr. Stephen Michael Slate, 69, a lifetime resident of Greensboro, NC, peacefully went home to be with our Lord on November 14, 2020 at Moses Cone Hospital with his children by his side. Steve was born on April 6, 1951 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Luther L. Slate of Greensboro.
Steve is survived by his two children, Jennifer Slate Kelly (Andrew) of Thomasville and Brett Slate of Winston Salem and his four grandsons; Landon Kelly, Talon Kelly, Cameron Slate, and Tristen Slate. Steve is also survived by his five siblings, Louise Coble, Rachel Webster, Elva Kennedy (Charles), Becky McDade, and Luther L Slate, Jr (Diane). Steve had many cousins, nieces, and nephews who he loved tremendously and will be missed dearly by them all.
Steve retired from used car sales but continued to work at Slate's Used Cars because he absolutely loved to be there every day with his family and friends. He never met a stranger and was loved by many. He loved his family, and enjoyed living life to the fullest. Steve had the ability to brighten up any room with his amazing personality and sense of humor. Steve was loved by anyone who knew him and will be missed greatly by many people.
The family will be holding a private "celebration of life" gathering on November 21,2020 to honor his memory. The family would like to thank Dr. Zane Atkins and the nursing staff of 2 Heart CVICU at Moses Cone for their phenomenal care and determination during Steve's hospitalization. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you please consider donating blood at your local blood drive. Any monetary donations can be made to the American Red Cross in memory of Steve Slate.
