Obituary

Tonya Vernon, 50, of Julian, North Carolina passed away peacefully on April 3, 2021. She was born in Rockingham County North Carolina on October 05, 1970 to the late Barry Lee Vernon and Brenda Williams Vernon.

Tonya was a devoted mother and loving grandmother. Spending time with her grandchildren was one of her favorite things to do.

She is survived by two daughters, Christa Vernon (Justin) of Asheboro and Kimberly Lorenzo (Orlando) of Julian; two sons, Christopher Tysinger (Shelby) of Moundsville, WV and Shawn Tysinger (Maria) of Reidsville; her mother Brenda W. Schenck (Rod) of Titusville, FL; one sister, Christie Watson (James) of Wilmington; eight grandchildren, Juan, Marten, Ethan, Katlyn, Jerzi, Elijah, Amelia, and Willow; her stepmother; Kathy Vernon of Julian; a stepbrothers Lundy Byrd of Snow Camp & Ian Byrd(Brooke) of Liberty.

Tonya is proceeded in death by her father, Barry Lee Vernon and her daughter, Amber Dickerson

A Celebration of Life will be held at 6:30 pm on Wednesday, April 07, 2021 at Hickory Grove United Methodist Church, 10068 Silk Hope-Liberty Road, Siler City, NC 27344.
