Bill Cegles died peacefully on October 9th, 2021, at the age of 70.
He was born on August 14th, 1951 in Niagara Falls, NY and graduated from Bradley University with a BS in Machine Design & Manufacturing and Lake Forest Graduate School of Management with an MBA. He spent four decades in sales at the executive level for several notable packaging and manufacturing companies and more recently as a sales agent for Physicians Mutual Insurance Company.
Bill was a passionate advocate of education, helping to mentor future leaders. In this capacity, he dedicated 19 years volunteering his time to the Gate City Kiwanis Club and three years to the Jamestown Middle School Builders Club. An outdoorsman at heart, he also loved spending time in nature and doing landscaping projects around his home. Over the years he and his wife Patricia have provided a loving home to numerous rescue animals, with his beloved Labrador Roxanne being one of many near and dear to his heart.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Ester Cegles, and cherished sisters Barbara (Robert) Willeumier and Kathleen Cegles-Comstock, Ph.D. He is survived by the love of his life of over 33 years Patricia Cegles and stepson David (Nancy) Roberts, in addition to his brother Paul (Rosemary) Cegles, beloved nieces Kristen (Mark) Pearson, Lisa (Jimmy) Narcissi, Chrissy (Mark) Ryan and nephew Paul Cegles.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, October 14th at 2:00 pm at Gate City Baptist Church, 5250 Hilltop Road, Jamestown.
